More Photos of Bizjets Gulfstream G-IV N524AN and Challenger VH-EVJ - And More - at Rockhampton Airport Friday

Travis W has sent through some great photos of some of the afternoon's action at Rockhampton Airport on Friday 26 April as a pair of bizjets - Gulfstream Aerospace G-IV N524AN and Bombardier CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 VH-EVJ - touched down at the beef capital.

As the photo above shows, there were also a couple of other interesting visitors worth mentioning including Surveillance Australia / Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (Cobham Aviation) Dash-8-202 VH-ZZB which touched down after concluding a surveillance mission over the waters of North and Central Queensland.

The Gulfstream G-IV N524AN then touched down on Runway 15 at Rockhampton after flying in from Melbourne (Essendon).

The G-IV was reportedly carrying Australian golfing legend Greg Norman who has flown to Rockhampton to launch a new development by Tower Holdings on nearby Great Keppel Island which will include a golf course designed by the 'Shark'.

Tower Holdings' own Challenger 604 VH-EVJ then touched down at Rockhampton after flying in from Sydney.

  

  

The Challenger is operated by Sydney Jet Charter but is owned by Tower Holdings.

A Lovely Pair of Bizjets Arrive at Rockhampton Airport Friday - Gulfstream G-IV N524AN and Challenger VH-EVJ

During a busy afternoon at Rockhampton Airport on Friday 26 April, a lovely pair of bizjets arrived into the Beef Capital, with one reportedly bringing Australian golf legend Greg Norman to town for a property launch on Great Keppel Island this weekend.

First to touchdown was Gulfstream Aerospace G-IV N524AN, which is pictured arriving from Melbourne (Essendon).  It is believed that the 'Shark' arrived into Rockhampton on board the G-IV.

Shortly after, Bombardier CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 VH-EVJ also touched down at Rockhampton, this time from Sydney.

The Challenger is operated by Sydney Jet Charter but owned by Tower Holdings - the developer behind the proposed $600 million resort project on Great Keppel Island featuring a Greg Norman designed golf course.

Photos of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet A44-215 Anzac Day Gladstone Fly Past

Gladstone plane spotters Jamie C and Michael F had their cameras pointed skyward this Anzac Day - Thursday 25 April - as Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet A44-215 performed a stunning single-ship fly-past over the Port City.

The RAAF “Rhino” was believed to be one of three aircraft flown by 6 Squadron based at Amberley Air Force Base, and displayed at numerous locations around Queensland to coincide with local Anzac Day commemorations.

Busy Barcaldine Airport This Week!

Aside from the regular QantasLink Dash-8 visits, the normally quiet Barcaldine Airport has had a busy start to the week, with the Queensland Government (State of Queensland) Raytheon Hawker 850XP bizjet VH-SGY arriving from Ayr and Brisbane on Monday 22 April.  After staying overnight, VH-SGY departed early on Tuesday 23 April for Brisbane.

Hinterland Aviation and Skytrans Airlines (presumably) fly-in fly-out (FIFO) charters continue into Barcaldine on a semi-regular schedule, with Hinterland's Cessna 404 VH-TFO arriving from Cairns as HND411 also on Monday.  It later departed for Jundah and Windorah.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday 24 April, Hinterland Aviation Cessna 208 Caravan VH-CVN touched down at Barcaldine from Cairns as HND626.  It later departed for Townsville and Cairns.

Also touching down on Wednesday 24 April was Skytrans Dash-8-300 VH-QQN which arrived from Longreach and Brisbane as SKP1226.  It later departed to Brisbane as SKP1227.

Virgin Australia Community Day at Bundaberg Airport This Saturday

To celebrate the launch of scheduled services between Bundaberg and Brisbane, Virgin Australia will be 'throwing the doors open' and hosting a free 'community day' at Bundaberg Airport this Saturday 27 April.

The day will kick off at around 11.00am and go until 2.30pm.

With scheduled services commencing to the Rum City the following weekend, this is the perfect opportunity for Bundaberg locals to view Virgin's ATR 72 turbo-prop aircraft up close, as well as talk to the friendly Virgin Australia flight crew and ground staff.

There will be also be a sausage sizzle with thanks to the local Rotary Club, and a jumping castle and face painting for the kids. A local radio station will also be broadcasting live.

Visitors on the day will have the opportunity to fill out an entry form to go into the draw to win one of five, 2 x Return Economy Airfares from Bundaberg to Brisbane.

Lastly, Virgin Australia (Skywest Airlines) ATR 72-600 VH-FVY - pictured above at Bundaberg Airport earlier this month - popped into Bundaberg on Friday 19 April for a media and corporate launch.

More Photos as Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-7DF(BBJ) A36-002 Departs Rockhampton Airport

Rockhampton plane spotter 'IAD' has sent through some absolutely fantastic images of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-7DF(BBJ) A36-002 as it sat in the morning sun at Rockhampton Airport on Wednesday 24 April.

He drove all around Rockhampton Airport, and sends through photos taken at various plane spotting locations - near the Rockhampton Airport terminal, General Aviation apron, and on the Western side of the Airport - as all shown below.

Eventually, as the morning wore on, Australia's Prime Minister, Julia Gillard and travelling party, boarded A36-002 and departed Rockhampton for Mackay Airport.

A36-002 was noted using the radio callsign "Envoy 11".

A big thanks to 'IAD' for his great coverage of this great aircraft movement into Central Queensland!  We certainly look forward to his coverage over the coming months!

And Not to be Outdone! Some Plane Spotting Photos from Gladstone Airport Too!

Gladstone plane spotter Jamie C has sent through some absolutely spectacular images of some of the action at Gladstone Airport on Tuesday 23 April.  With most aircraft using Gladstone Airport's Runway 28 for arrival and departure it made for some fantastic photos of aircraft rotating for departure right in front of Jamie's vantage point.

Virgin Australia (Skywest Airlines) ATR 72-500 VH-FVL is pictured departing Gladstone for Brisbane as VOZ1714.

QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXJ is pictured also departing Gladstone for Brisbane as QJE1709.

On the lighter side of the aircraft to visit Gladstone Airport on Tuesday 23 April was McNab Avaition (of Toowoomba) Cessna 414A VH-FKH.  It is pictured departing Gladstone for Archerfield and later Toowoomba.  It had arrived into the Port City the previous day.

Lastly, Wagners Development Company Hawker Beechcraft B300 Super King Air VH-WJW paid Gladstone yet another visit - this time arriving from Archerfield.  It departed to Toowoomba after dark.
