Thursday and Friday Spottings From Rockhampton Airport

Late on Thursday 15 February, a nice bizjet in the form of Canadair Challenger CL-600 VH-JPQ passed through Rockhampton Airport enroute from Cairns to Brisbane. The Challenger is registered to Norseman Air in Brisbane, and had recently returned from Guam in the South Pacific. The Challenger wasn't on the ground at Rockhampton Airport for long, and departed South at around the same time as the first QantasLink Boeing B717-200 RPT service operated by Cobham Aviation's VH-NXN, was preparing to depart also for Brisbane.

On Friday 16 February, another nice bizjet was noted passing through Rockhampton Airport, with Cessna 525A Citation CJ2 VH-ZGP popping in briefly from Mackay, before departing soon after to Brisbane.

The other notable arrival at Rockhampton Airport on Friday was Helicorp (of Essendon in Victoria) Bell 412EP, VH-LWF. The big Bell is a very recent arrival on Australia shores, and has been rebuilt and repainted into its striking green and white Toll Aviation colour scheme earlier this month at Redcliffe Aerodrome. It made a spectacular arrival - and managed to kick up a lot recently mowed grass!

VH-LWF was believed to be passing through Rockhampton for fuel while on its delivery flight to the Solomon Islands.
