Other Rockhampton Airport Spottings on Friday

As well as the RAAF C-130J Hercules - see Blog post below - there was a very interesing mix of General Aviation light traffic - as well as the regular commercial traffic - that were noted at Rockhampton Airport on Friday 11 May.

RAAF C-130J-30 A97-466 arrived and departed as "Trojan 56".

Commercial visitors to Rockhampton Airport on Friday were Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100 VH-XWP which was operating during the day for QantasLink.

Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800s that were noted were both in the airline's new colours - VH-YVA.

And later in the day VH-VUG - which did until recently wear Pacific Blues colours.

Most of the interesting visitors that were photographed on Friday 11 May were spotted at the General Aviation Apron at Rockhampton Airport.  As expected, most light aircraft visiting Rockhampton Airport this week have most likely flying in participants and visitors to the Beef Week 2012.

Executive Airlines Cessna 550 Citation Bravo bizjet VH-FGK was still parked after arriving the day before.  It was due to leave Saturday morning.

Cessna 208 Caravan VH-DJG is a frequent visitor to Rockhampton.  The Caravan is based at Bowenville, which is near Dalby.

Blackall-based Piper PA-32-300 VH-MLK was spotted departing.

Townsville-based Cessna 182 VH-PFZ also departed.

Cirrus SR22 VH-MEX is based on a Station at Hughenden.

A nice Archerfield Airport-based Partenavia P.68B in the form of VH-IXC arrived and parked.  It carries an attractive colour scheme and titles of Flight One Professional Charter and Training.

Cessna 206 VH-PGJ is usually based at Mackay Airport operating transfers to the nearby Islands.  VH-PGJ carries a small sticker on its tail for Keswick Island, which is part of the Whitsunday Islands.

A little later in the day, a couple of nice light corporate aircraft arrived and parked at Rockhampton Airport. Corporate Air (Vee H Aviation) Cessna 404 VH-VEC arrived.

For the second time this week, Pilatus PC-12/47E VH-AAD arrived into Rockhampton and was noted parking up for the night on the (by now!) crowded General Aviation apron.

Also during the afternoon, Charters Towers-based Cessna 172 VH-BRE departed.

Still a little later, Seair Cessna 208 Caravan VH-LMZ popped into Rockhampton Airport.  It is believed the same aircraft visited on Thursday.  On both occassions, the aircraft had arrived from and then departed to Hervey Bay.

Maroochy Air Piper PA-46R-350T Malibu VH-UPY made yet another visit to Rockhampton Airport.

Sunshine Coast-based Beech V35 VH-CFV made for a couple of nice photos as it touched down in the late afternoon sunlight (and shadows!) and then parked on the grass for the night.

And just as the sun was going down, Beech B60 Duke VH-RJU departed to the South.

One final arrival came in the form of Careflight Queensland Bell 412 VH-XCO, which was captured arriving from Williamson Airfield which is in the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA).
