A Busy Day for Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) at Moranbah Airport on Monday

I've noted that there were at least 15 commercial and fly-in fly-out (FIFO) charter flight movements into Moranbah Airport on Monday 6 August.

Of note, Virgin Australia operated another of its rolling FIFO charters from and back to Townsville, with Skywest Airlines-operated ATR 72-500 VH-FVM noted operating Monday morning's charter.  It also operated a return charter flight to Moranbah from Townsville late on Sunday 5 August.

There was also a total of nine QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 movements into Moranbah on Monday 6 August, with four of these being FIFO flights arriving after the sun went down.  These charters, and the remaining flights - Regular Passenger Transport (RPT) flights - all arrived from and departed back to Brisbane.

Mixed in between these larger arrivals were some other interesting FIFO and other charter arrivals.  Seair Cessna 208 Caravans VH-LMZ and VH-LYT both arrived from Hervey Bay early, and later departed to Maryborough.

Four B200 King Air aircraft of four different operators also popped into Moranbah Airport on Monday 6 August.  Great Western Aviation's Beech B200 VH-SGV arrived and departed during the morning.  As the afternoon went on, Austrek Aviation's Raytheon B200 VH-NSN (file photo below) popped in, closely followed by Machjet (McDermott Aviation) Beech B200 VH-LNJ.

To cap a busy day off, Queensland Goverment (State of Queensland) Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-SGQ arrived from Proserpine/Whitsunday Coast Airport.  It later departed to Brisbane.
