Tiger Airways Announces a Return to Mackay Airport from December

After a 14-month hiatus, Tiger Airways has confirmed airline services will return to Mackay Airport from Tuesday 18 December.  Tickets went on sale this week.

The push for the low-cost airline to return to our region started when the company launched a voting system on its website last month.  Mackay is currently number one!

Tiger Airways has identified Mackay as among Australia's fastest-growing regions, being a key tourism drawcard and also having strong demand from the fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) mining sector.

Direct flights to Melbourne with Tiger Airways would be on sale for $109.95, one way.  At this stage, up to four Airbus A320-operated return services per week will provide 1440 seats through Mackay Airport weekly.
