Airwork New Zealand Boeing B737-300 ZK-SLA at Rockhampton Airport Saturday

Spotted making a very brief visit to Rockhampton Airport late on Saturday 17 November was Airwork New Zealand Boeing B737-300 ZK-SLA.

The aircraft arrived from Mount Isa. While on the ground, it was noted that ZK-SLA didn't stop at a gate, and it is believed that only a change of crew took place in the flightdeck.  After about 15 minutes, ZK-SLA departed to Brisbane.

ZK-SLA is believed to be returning to New Zealand after completing a stint in West Australia where is was operating for Alliance Airline while their Boeing B737-400 ZK-JTQ was undergoing maintenance.  ZK-SLA is no stranger to Australian skies having operated for Ansett Airlines during the 1990s and 2000s as VH-CZA.

While waiting for the B737-300 to arrive, Rockhampton spotters were treated to the arrival of a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Search and Rescue (CHC Helicopters) Sikorsky S-76A VH-HRP.

Also spotted in the late afternoon sun was Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-YFH which is pictured departing to Brisbane as VOZ1248.

Lastly, on Friday 16 November, the Queensland Police Service (Airwing) Raytheon B1900D VH-PSK was spotted at Rockhampton Airport as it made its almost daily visit to Rockhampton.

Thanks to IAD and Trevor H for their lovely photos.
