More Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) Charter Flights to Barcaldine Aerodrome

We've mentioned a couple of times recently that we are starting to see some Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flights starting to touch down at Barcaldine Aerodrome.  On Monday 18 March, Skytrans Dash-8-300 VH-QQP operated as SKP1224/1225 and flew into Barcaldine from Brisbane before later departing to Longreach and then back to Brisbane.  Also on Monday, Hinterland Aviation Beech B200 King Air VH-HLJ flew into Barcaldine, arriving as HND760 from Townsville.  It later departed to Cairns.

These charters came after similar 'outbound' charters were noted passing through Barcaldine last week on Thursday 14 March, when Skytrans Dash-8-300 VH-QQN operated as SKP1226/1227 flying Brisbane to Longreach to Barcaldine to Brisbane; while Hinterland King Air VH-HLJ flew Cairns to Barcaldine to Townsville.

It's also worth noting that on Tuesday 12 March, Henty Aviation Cessna 425 VH-BSM visited from Archerfield, while on Friday 8 March, Adelaide-owned but seemingly Toowoomba-based Light Jets Australia Cessna 525 Citation CJ1 VH-TFW was noted arriving into Barcaldine from Longreach, before departing later to the Sunshine Coast.

I'll have to take the drive out to Barcaldine and Longreach again some time!
