QantasLink has announced plans to add an extra 144 seats each week on their scheduled services between Brisbane and Bundaberg from Monday 1 July. The move comes as QantasLink upgrades and improves services to Bundaberg, Roma, and Longreach.

The upgrade in services to Bundaberg will be due to an upgrade in aircraft operating flights to the larger 74-seat Dash-8-Q400, and comes little more than a month after Virgin Australia Regional Airlines started flying out of the rum city to Brisbane.
QantasLink currently operates a 29-strong fleet of Dash-8-Q400 aircraft across a network of 56 metropolitan and regional destinations across Australia as well as to Port Moresby.
The announcement was made at a recent special event in Bundaberg, where Qantas also launched its new book, QantasLink A Regional Tale, which features Bundaberg.
QantasLink also presented the Bundaberg Regional Council with a $50,000 donation towards flood recovery. The $50,000 donation was part of a campaign Qantas ran, selling 59,000 seats for $59 and donating $1 from every ticket to flood recovery.
Meanwhile, the Hinkler Hall of Aviation at the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens has reopened its doors to the public in another welcoming sign for the Bundaberg tourism industry.
The hall has been shut along with other Botanic Gardens attractions since the floods tore through region and the damage sustained virtually wrecked the electrical work throughout the venue. After an exhausting four months, the much-loved attraction was once again open to the public.
Bundaberg's hometown here and Australia's greatest aviator Bert Hinkler will be remembered in a ceremony in Italy during July this year some 80 years after his untimely death when his aircraft crashed into the Pratomagno Mountains near Arezzo on January 7, 1933.
