Caboolture Plane Crash Link to Gladstone Plane Crash in 2010

As has been widely reported in national media, five people died when Cessna 206 VH-FRT, operated by Adrenalin Skydivers, crashed during take-off at the Caboolture Airfield, 50km north of Brisbane on Saturday 22 March.

But it has also emerged that the skydiving firm involved in the fiery plane crash was involved in a similar incident near Gladstone in 2010, where seven people cheated death.

Adrenalin Skydivers, promoted as Skydive ­Bribie, was running the ill-fated operation, utilising Caboolture Airfield for pick-ups, and conducting tandem jumps for tourists, who land on nearby Bribie Island.

Adrenalin Skydivers Pty Ltd also was the parent company involved in an accident where an aircraft being used by ­Skydive Central Queensland crashed in August 2010.  The Cessna 206 - registered VH-TZV - was experiencing engine trouble on take-off before it crashed at Wiggins Island, east of Gladstone Airport on Thursday 12 August 2010.
