An Investigation Also Launched into a Runway Incursion Incident at Gladstone Airport

While I was gathering information for the Blog post below, I read with interest that the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has commenced an investigation into a runway incursion incident involving a QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOP at Gladstone Airport on Thursday 17 April.

It has been reported that the Dash-8 proceeded beyond the holding point line for the Runway while another aircraft was on final approach to land.  The other aircraft involved is reported to be a Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) ATR 72.
