A Couple of Other Arrivals and Departures at Hamilton Island Airport Over the Last Week or so

After arriving earlier in the week, privately owned Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 601-3A bizjet N429WG departed Hamilton Island Airport for Ayres Rock on Thursday 2 October.

It's also worth mentioning that last Tuesday 23 September, the pair of Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. bizjets - Gulfstream Aerospace GV-SP (G550) N45JE and Bombardier BD-700-1A10 Global Express N51SE - departed Hamo for Cairns and then overseas.  I was fortunate enough to catch them on finals at Cairns whilst on holiday in Far North Queensland.

Back to this week, Shortstop Jet Charter British Aerospace BAe-125-1000B VH-LMP has again been noted visiting Hamilton Island, arriving firstly on Tuesday 30 September from spending over a week in Townsville.  On Wednesday 1 October, VH-LMP then departed Hamo, flying direct to Melbourne (Essendon) Airport.  At the time of writing, VH-LMP is expected back into Hamilton Island from Essendon on Friday 3 October, before flying on Townsville and back again.  UPDATE! Townsville plane spotter Dave captured VH-LMP on short final to Townsville on Friday!

Also on Tuesday 30 September, an interesting corporate turbo-prop to also to call in to Hamilton Island Airport was SOCATA TBM-850 (700N) VH-TBM which is owned by Starmind Investments in West Australia.  VH-TBM arrived from Jandakot Airport in Perth, via Alice Springs.

On Wednesday 1 October, Silver Linings Aviation Cessna 680 Citation Sovereign bizjet VH-ZEK departed Hamilton Island for Bankstown Airport in Sydney.  It has spent over a week on the ground at Hamo after arriving on Sunday 21 September.

Finally, on Thursday 2 October, Pilatus Australia's own PC-12/47E VH-WBI touched down at Hamo from Archerfield.  It had earlier flown into Acherfield from the Gold Coast where it arrived from its Adelaide base the previous day.  VH-WBI later departed back to Adelaide direct.
