I noticed that a couple of Qantas and QantasLink aircraft called into Hamilton Island Airport over the weekend that are wearing special colours. Perhaps the most spectacular arrival was on
Sunday 18 January when Qantas Airways Boeing B737-800 VH-XZJ operated the QFA866/867 service from and back to Sydney, while on
Monday 19 January, QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 Next Gen VH-LQM operated the QLK2824/2825 service from and back to Brisbane.

VH-XZJ wears the special Aboriginal art colour scheme called “Mendoowoorrji”, while VH-LQM wears the 'Recognise' colour scheme unveiled by Qantas as it has joined the movement to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Australian Constitution.
