Virgin B737-700 VH-VBY Visits Gladstone Airport Again - And no JetGo Flights This Week!

Another Virgin Australia jet has called into Gladstone Airport with Boeing B737-700 VH-VBY operating the scheduled VOZ1717/1720 service from and back to Brisbane on Thursday 15 January.

Local plane spotter Anthony S popped out Gladstone Airport before work and captured some great photos as the cute little Boeing touched down on Runway 10.

VH-VBY then departed off Runway 28 – certainly the preferred runway at Gladstone Airport for local plane spotters as it offers great photo opportunities as aircraft rotate and climb out from the industrial city.

At the time of writing, it is expected that a Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 jet will visit Gladstone Airport on a scheduled service on Saturday 17 January.

While he was at Gladstone Airport on Thursday 15 January, Anthony also captured some of the rest of the afternoon’s action including Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) ATR 72-500 VH-FVH which departed to Brisbane as VOZ1716.

Also a pair of QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200s – VH-NXH and VH-NXJ – were also captured as they called into Gladstone Airport.

Gladstone Helicopters / Helireef Eurocopter EC135-T1 helicopter VH-ZGI was captured flying out and back to Gladstone Airport on what looked to be marine pilot transfer flights on behalf of Maritime Safety.

Finally, it was noted that JetGo Australia had only operated one flight this week (to the time of writing) with only the JG70/71 rotation operating into Gladstone from and back to Sydney on Monday 12 January.  There have been no services since!

UPDATE!  JetGo has informed us that Embraer E-135 VH-JGB will operate a service into Gladstone later on Friday 16 January.

Sincere thanks to Anthony for allowing us to share his great photos from Thursday!
