A Few More Great Photos from a Wet Week at Mackay Airport - incl Virgin Samoa B737-800 VH-VOR

We've received some more lovely photos taken at Mackay Airport in recent days with perhaps the star visitor being Virgin Australia / Virgin Samoa Boeing B737-800 VH-VOR (ex ZK-PBF) spotted departing to Brisbane early on Monday 30 March as VOZ600.  It had arrived late on Sunday night.

VH-VOR then turned around in Brisbane and operated a return flight to Rockhampton.  It then positioned from Brisbane to Townsville as VOZ9939 where I suspect it has entered the paint shop to have the standard Virgin Australia titles applied.  So these photos may well be the last we see of VH-VOR wearing these titles!

Also calling into Mackay Airport on Monday morning was Jetstar Airways Airbus A320 VH-VFN.  It was operating the morning JST882/883 service from and back to Brisbane.  Most notable about VH-VFN was that it once wore a special livery commemorating the 100th aircraft / 100 millionth passenger in the Jetstar Group fleet.

And the Queensland Police Service (Airwing) Cessna 560 Citation Ultra VH-PSU called into Mackay on Monday 30 March from Maryborough as a part of another busy day of flying.  It has again called into Mackay (amongst other places) on another busy day of flying on Thursday 2 April.

A few other commercial visitors to Mackay were also captured arriving and departing on a very wet Monday 30 March - and they all managed to kick up a bit of the water lying around the main runway.

Conditions began to improve as the day wore on, but local reports suggest the weather again quickly closed in with wind and rain showers persisting for most of this week!

Thanks to the Mackay plane spotters for sending through these awesome photos!
