VH-FNF at Brisbane Airport in late August |
The little Fokker - which is still wearing the colours of Skywest Airlines - has been of late operating Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter flights out of Brisbane to Miles Aerodrome. This is its first visit to Emerald, and what I believe to the first ever visit of a Skywest Airlines Fokker 50 at Emerald Airport.
After a couple of hours on the ground, VH-FNF returned to Brisbane.
And what an awesome surprise was that VH-FNF operated another flight into Emerald Airport on Wednesday 7 October, again touching down from and later returning to Brisbane.
Certainly a nice aircraft to look out for!
Finally, while we're talking about Emerald Airport, Pilatus Britten-Norman BN2A-21 VH-URJ ferried South from Mareeba via Emerald to Archerfield on Sunday 4 October. VH-URJ has previously been operated by Seair Pacific / Istlecote on the Gold Coast but now looks to be operated out of Horn Island in Far North Queensland.
