RAAF Lockheed SP-2H Neptune A89-277 to move from Mareeba to Queensland Air Museum on the Sunshine Coast

The Queensland Air Museum (QAM) has secured Lockheed SP-2H Neptune A89-277 from the Beck collection in Mareeba, Far North Queensland. The aircraft has been part of the Sid Beck collection since 1978.

A team of 14 QAM volunteers arrived in Mareeba this week and work is being done to split it into four pieces to be transported back to Museum at Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast.

And the transport of the Neptune commenced on Friday 12 February with a pair of semi-trailer trucks departing Mareeba for Townsville and eventually points South.

For CQ Plane Spotters, there is the possibility that the two trucks may make it to Rockhampton on Saturday 13 February.  Stay tuned to the CQ Plane Spotting Blog Facebook page for all the latest updates!
