After taking on fuel, VH-KXM then departed to Bankstown.
Meanwhile, on Sunday 22 May, General Aviation Maintenance (GAM) AeroCommander 500-S VH-YJM ferried into Emerald Airport from Brisbane. It came to town to replace fellow GAM AeroCommander VH-UJN which subsequently ferried back to Brisbane. It had been operating out of Emerald Airport for the previous couple of weeks on the week-daily freight run to Barcaldine and Longreach and back.
As expected, VH-YJM commenced on the freight run to Barcaldine and Longreach on Monday 23 May, while it was noted that VH-UJN operated from Brisbane to Dalby, Roma and Charleville before it then departed to Bankstown via a few stops.
On Tuesday 24 May, VH-UJN was noted to depart Bankstown early and ended up at Melbourne (Essendon) Airport again after making several stops. Given that GAM has its major maintenance hangar at Essendon, I assume that VH-UJN will be undertaking planned maintenance.
Finally, a couple of other light General Aviation (GA) aircraft to call into Emerald Airport on Monday 23 May included Georgetown-based Piper PA- 46-500TP Malibu VH-TPM which arrived from the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour and departed to Toowoomba. Also noted departing Emerald Airport to Toowoomba was Atlass Aviation Vulcanair (Partenavia) P.68C VH-KBO, while Toowoomba-based Wolff Aviation Hawker Beechcraft C90GTi VH-VWG was noted calling into Emerald Airport from there. New South Wales-based Cirrus SR22 VH-MCN was also noted departing to Roma on Monday 23 May.
