Federal Election Campaign Comes to Rockhampton Airport Thursday with RAAF BBJ A36-001 & Alliance F-70 VH-JFE

With the Federal Parliamentary seat of Capricornia one of the more important ones in the Federal Election campaign, it came as no surprise the Federal Labor leader Bill Shorten continued his tour of North and Central Queensland, calling into Rockhampton early on Thursday 12 May.

As we posted below, Mr Shorten also visited Mackay on Wednesday 11 May.

On Thursday 12 May, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-7DT(BBJ) A36-001 was spotted arriving at Rockhampton Airport early on Thursday from Townsville again as "Envoy 71".

Bill Shorten was spotted disembarking the BBJ and jumping aboard his special "100 Positive Policies" bus to complete his engagements in the beef capital.

Also touching down from Townsville on Thursday 12 May was Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 VH-JFE.  It joins fellow Alliance F-70 VH-JFB in transporting media around the campaign trail with Mr Shorten and Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.  On this occasion, VH-JFE was noted flying as "Envoy 79".

Engagements complete, both A36-001 and VH-JFE departed Rockhampton Airport for Sydney, again as "Envoy 71" and "Envoy 79" respectively.

Some great photos from local plane spotters 'IAD', Kayanne H and Trevor H.  We sincerely thank them for taking the time to capture and send them through!
