As predicted below, Marcplan Charter Gulfstream G-IV-X (G450) bizjet VH-MBP called into Rockhampton Airport on Tuesday 17 May. It had to have two attempts at landing after having to perform a go-around after birds prevented a safe touch down on Runway 15.
It eventually touched down from Brisbane as "Envoy 81",
It was interesting to note that VH-MBP used a flight number and callsign that the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) 34 Squadron VIP transport aircraft use. Deputy Labor Leader Tanya Plibersek was spotted coming from the Gulfstream and completed a series of engagements around Rocky.
When these were complete, VH-MBP departed Rockhampton Airport for Townsville, again as "Envoy 81".
Meanwhile, Gulf Coast Aviation Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-KXM remains parked on the General Aviation (GA) Apron at Rockhampton Airport after arriving from Townsville on Monday 16 May.
Finally, away from Rocky, Cessna 525 Citation M2 bizjet VH-WMY of Mitchell Water Australia departed Hamilton Island Airport on Tuesday 17 May for Archerfield and Melbourne (Essendon). It had touched down from Essendon via Roma Airport on Monday 16 May.
Sincere thanks to local plane spotters 'IAD' and Trevor H for capturing and sending through these great photos!
