Exercise Wallaby 2016 - Air New Zealand Boeing B777-200 Returns to Rockhampton Airport Sunday

As mentioned earlier today, Air New Zealand Boeing B777-200 ZK-OKG has returned to Rockhampton Airport on Sunday 6 November, positioning direct from Singapore's Changi Airport as ANZ6001.

The big twin-engined jet touched down on Rocky's Runway 33 and taxied to Gate 6 where it was parked.  ZK-OKG was due to be loaded with troops and their cargo before departing back to Singapore later on Sunday 6 November as ANZ1938 around 9.00pm.

Its departure marks the end of the fourth and final 'wave' of heavy jet passenger charter flights in support of the Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby 2016.

Over the course of this week and into next week, it is expected that an Antonov AN-124 cargo plane will make three visits to Rockhampton Airport to transport the remaining Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) back home to Singapore following the completion of Exercise Wallaby last week.

The Rockhampton Regional Council has announced that the Antonov AN-124 will return on Wednesday 9 November, Sunday 13 November and next Thursday 17 November touching down around 8.00am each time.  The massive cargo aircraft will be loaded and is planned to depart Rockhampton Airport around 8.00pm on the same day.

Of course, these flights mentioned above are very much subject to change.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter Kayanne H for yet again taking the time to capture and send through these great photos - despite the hot weather conditions in Central Queensland today!
