It has also been a busy few days in the skies over Rockhampton this week with multiple sorties - both day and night - by the various Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and helicopters to and from the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) in support of the Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby 2017.
The RSAF Aerospatiale / Eurocopter AS332M Super Puma helicopters continue to fly from Rockhampton Airport to Shoalwater Bay also during the day as singles (using the callsign "Starling") or at night in formation (using the callsign "Diamond").
As do the four RSAF Boeing AH-64D Apache helicopters which have been spotted departing in pairs, or with all four departing together from the Eastern heli-pad at the end of the cross-Runway 04/22. They have been heard using the callsigns "Astro" and "Atom".
And the two RSAF Boeing CH-47SD Chinook helicopters also continue to operate daytime and nighttime sorties to Shoalwater Bay from and back to Rockhampton Airport - both operating from the main Runway 15/33 and from the Eastern heli-pad at the end of the cross-Runway 04/22. They have been heard to use the callsign "Cyclops" with the occasional flight as "Celtic".
Finally, the RSAF Lockheed C-130H Hercules '730' continues flying up to three daily sorties to Shoalwater Bay, delivering troops and equipment to Shoalwater Bay using radio callsign "Rider".
