As we reported below, one of the two Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Boeing CH-47SD Chinook helicopters that has been deployed to Rockhampton Airport for the Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby 2017 has been identified as '88192' and wears a special commemorative tail flash for the Chinook's 20th anniversary with the RSAF.
On Saturday 2 September, local plane spotters Daniel B and Kayanne H were on hand to capture some great photos as '88192' initially taxied out for departure from the Northern military hardstand before it later returned to Rocky and landed on Runway 15.
Of interest, the other RSAF Chinook that is at Rockhampton Airport during Exercise Wallaby 2017 has been identified as '88190' and has also taken to the air as posted below.
The RSAF Chinooks have been heard to be using the radio callsigns of "Concorde" and "Cyclops".
Sincere thanks to Daniel and Kayanne for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
