QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QON Pops into CQ Airports in New Colours

On Saturday 15 September, QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QON emerged from the Flying Colours paint-shop at Townsville and was almost immediately noted visiting Central Queensland Airports wearing its new 'Silver-Roo' colour scheme.

After flying to Cairns the previous day, on Sunday 16 September, it was noted visiting noted operating as QLK2305 from Cairns to Townsville and Mackay Airports, before it then flew to Brisbane as QLK2513.

On Monday 17 September, VH-QON then operated from Brisbane on flights to Blackall, Longreach, Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) and Bundaberg Airports.  At the time of writing, it will stay for the night at Bundy before returning to Brisbane on Tuesday 18 September.

UPDATE!  Of interest, VH-QON is now operating out of Sydney Airport.

VH-QON joins several other Dash-8-Q400s in the new and updated Qantas livery and kangaroo logo, which was introduced to coincide with the introduction the Boeing B787 Dreamliner into service with the airline late last year.  They are becoming quite a common sight at most Central Queensland Airports.

It has been reported that VH-QON was also adorned with the name 'Orange' after being previously un-named.

Finally, at the time of writing, it appears that Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOJ is now in the paint-shop in Townsville.
