3 Army MRH-90s into Rockhampton Airport - Plus 3 RAAF Super King Airs at Longreach Airport

Tuesday 11 December was a very busy day for Australian Defence Force (ADF) helicopters and aircraft with multiple visits into various Central Queensland Airports.

At Rockhampton Airport, pair of Australian Army NH Industries MRH-90 Multi-Role Helicopters flew in from Townsville.  A40-009 as "Warhorse 243", followed a short time later as A40-035 as "Destrier 113".

The second MRH-90 A40-035 "Destrier 113" continued to Brisbane whereas the first, A40-009 "Warhorse 243" looked to suffer a maintenance issue and did not continue.

As a result, as the sun was setting, another Australian Army MRH-90 A40-028 as "Destrier 112" was noted arriving into Rockhampton Airport also from Townsville.

At the time of writing, both MRH-90s looks to be spending the night at Rocky.

UPDATE!  Repairs made, on Wednesday 12 December, A40-009 "Warhorse 243" departed Rockhampton Airport for Brisbane while A40-028 "Destrier 112" departed Rockhampton Airport for Townsville.

UPDATE!  Also on Wednesday 12 December, another Australian Army MRH-90 helicopter A40-013 passed through Rockhampton Airport, arriving from Brisbane and departing to Townsville as "Destrier 113".

Meanwhile, up at Mackay Airport, also on Tuesday 11 December, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 bizjet A37-001 was noted calling in from Melbourne (Tullamarine) as "Wisdom 31".  After a couple of hours on the ground, it departed to the Toowoomba-Wellcamp Airport.

Finally, out at Longreach Airport, also on Tuesday 11 December, three RAAF Beech B350 Super King Air turboprop aircraft and an Australian Army helicopter were all noted visiting from different parts.

RAAF Super King Airs A32-348 as "Hudson 04", A32-372 as "Hudson 02" and A32-339 as "Hudson 08" were all noted arriving into Longreach Airport from RAAF Base East Sale in Victoria.  After taking on fuel, they each continued to Cairns.

Of interest, another RAAF Super King Air A32-350 as "Hudson 22" was noted overflying Rockhampton while flying from Brisbane to Townsville.

While an unidentified Australian Army Boeing CH-47F 'Foxtrot' Chinook helicopter kicked up a lot of dust as it visited Longreach Airport from parts unknown.
