On Sunday 17 February, New South Wales-based Handel Aviation Cessna 210R Centurion VH-ZID was spotted arriving into Rockhampton Airport.
It looked to arrive from the Gold Coast via some aerial surveying nearby to Rocky. VH-ZID is used extensively around Australia on aerial survey flights as shown by the attachment under the Cessna's wing.
After being refuelled, VH-ZID then departed on an almost four-hour flight where it completed more aerial surveying before flying South and landing at Bundaberg Airport.
UPDATE! On Monday 18 February, VH-ZID completed more aerial survey work, departing Bundaberg Airport and landing at Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport.
As we posted on our Facebook page, VH-ZID was noted at Mackay and Gladstone Airports last week also completing aerial survey work in the area. It was joined last week by another aerial survey aircraft in the form of Sydney-based Duck's Nuts Aviation Cessna 210L VH-KSS.
VH-KSS remains in the South-East corner of the state.
Sincere thanks Russell for taking the time to capture and send through these stunning photos! Enjoy!
