Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) British Aerospace (BAe) Hawk 127 Jets Continue Flying Sorties out of Rockhampton Airport

The visiting Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) British Aerospace (BAe) Hawk 127 jet training aircraft continue to fly sorties out of Rockhampton Airport to the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA) and back.

On Tuesday 16 July, A27-22 was photographed arriving back into Rockhampton Airport during the late afternoon as "Cougar 41".

Also on Tuesday, a pair of Hawks completed a sortie as "Cougar", while another single completed an afternoon sortie as "Cougar 31".

Then on Wednesday 17 July, the 'spare' Hawk 127 jet A27-18 went for a fly, completing a morning sortie to Shoalwater Bay and back as "Cougar 11".

It is believed that A27-18 hasn't flown since arriving into Rockhampton Airport late last week.

Later on Wednesday, a pair of Hawks also completed a sortie as "Cougar 21".

As mentioned previously, the three Hawks visiting Rockhampton Airport are flown by No. 76 Flight Training Squadron, part of No. 78 Wing, out of RAAF Base Williamtown in New South Wales.

Sincere thanks to the local plane spotters for taking the time capture and send through these great photos!
