New Regional Express (REX) SAAB 340B VH-ZPC Calls into Gladstone and Miles Airports

On Tuesday 12 November, Regional Express (REX) SAAB 340B VH-ZPC was noted making an early morning arrival into Gladstone Airport from Brisbane, flying in using the Pel-Air flight number and callsign of PFY9310.

Then just after lunch, VH-ZPC departed Gladstone Airport and flew down to Miles Airport.  It later returned to Brisbane as PFY9313.

Of interest, VH-ZPC is one of three recently delivered SAAB 340B turboprops for REX which have previously been operated by PenAir, a United States-based regional airline headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska.  VH-ZPA and VH-ZPB are the other two aircraft.

VH-ZPC is shown above landing at Brisbane Airport on its delivery flight from the USA in early May.

Knowledgeable readers would also know that this VH-ZP*  'series' of aircraft registration markings were previously worn by Virgin Australia Embraer E-190 regional jets which left the fleet during 2017 and 2018.
