Some More Plane Spotting Action From This Week at Gladstone Airport

A week of very contrasting weather in Gladstone this week and a mixed bag of plane spotting action at Gladstone Airport - let's start on Tuesday 22 January 2013

QantasLink (Cobham Aviation)  Boeing B717-200 VH-NXM was noted arriving into Gladstone as QF1706 from Brisbane.


QantasLink Dash-8-Q300 VH-TQZ was also noted passing through Gladstone while operating the morning south-bound 'milkrun' from Cairns to Brisbane via Townsville, Mackay, and Rockhampton - flight QLK2301. 

Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Hawker Beechcraft B200 King Air VH-FDI was noted resting on the tarmac adjacent to the general aviation hangars.  It later departed to Brisbane as "FlyDoc 467"

Also resting on General Aviation apron was General Aviation Maintenance (GAM) AeroCommander 500-S VH-UJS.

Cessna 210 VH-LOG was noted departing to the North.

On Wednesday 23 January, we noted QantasLink B717-200 VH-NXG taxiing for departure to Brisbane as QF1703.

Another RFDS aircraft was noted at Gladstone this week in the form of Hawker Beechcraft B200 King Air VH-FDA. It was later noted departing to Brisbane as "FlyDoc 401".

As we posted below, Coastwings (Sutherland Aviation) Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-WXC visited Gladstone on Wednesday 23 January.  

Along with Advance Aviation Beech B200 King Air VH-WJK, which we noted resting on the General Aviation apron at Gladstone Airport.

On the Commercial scene on Wednesday 23 January, Virgin Australia (Skywest Airlines) ATR 72-500 VH-FVU and QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QON were also noted passing through Gladstone.

  1. The RFDS aircraft was there on Tuesday to transport my father to Brisbane with a heart condition and dad did comment it was a bit rough on the approach to Brisbane.
