Virgin Australia RPT Services to Emerald Airport now Operated by Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 Jets

On Monday 30 May, Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 jets have taken over Regular Public Transport (RPT) scheduled services into Emerald Airport on behalf of Virgin Australia Airlines.

Under the 'wet lease' arrangement, it appears at this stage that F-70 VH-QQX has operated all flights between Brisbane and Emerald Airport with 2-to-3 flights touching down each day, including a couple of overnight stays at in Emerald.

I spotted VH-QQX arriving into Emerald Airport in the fast fading evening light on Tuesday 31 May as VOZ1265.  It then stayed for the night.

Meanwhile, it appears that now Alliance Airlines are flying for Virgin Australia, Alliance are no longer operating their stand-alone RPT services between Brisbane to Emerald.

It appears though that Alliance are still flying their Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) charter services into Emerald Airport with Fokker F-70 VH-QQV also visiting late on Monday 30 May and again early on Tuesday 31 May.

Finally, Virgin Australia ATR 72s are still continuing to fly into Emerald Airport each Tuesday night and Wednesday morning on FIFO charter flights from and back to Brisbane.  This week, Virgin Australia ATR 72-500 VH-FVI operated the VOZ9107/9108 FIFO charter late on Tuesday 31 May, while ATR 72-500 VH-FVX operated the VOZ9109/9110 FIFO charter on Wednesday 1 June.
