A Pair of RAAF C-17A Globemaster Transport Aircraft Spotted Completing Missed Approaches at Rockhampton Airport

On Wednesday 7 December, a pair of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing C-17A Globemaster III transport aircraft were spotted completing missed approaches at Rockhampton Airport.

The first C-17 was believed to be A41-208 which used the radio callsign of "Stallion 24", flew up to Rocky from RAAF Base Amberley.

After completing the missed approach it then flew West and completed airwork at both Emerald and Taroom Airports before returning to Amberley.

A little while later, fellow C-17 A41-213 flying as "Stallion 22" also flew North from Amberley and completed a missed approach at Rocky. It too then flew West and completed airwork at Emerald and Taroom before returning to Amberley.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter Kayanne H for taking the time to capture these great photos from her front yard!
