Australasian Jet and Hinterland Aviation FIFO Charters to Clermont Aerodrome This Week

Despite the rather inclement weather that has blown through Clermont - and the whole of Central Queensland this week - I have had the thrill of spotting three new aircraft to touch down at Clermont Aerodrome on what were believed to be 'new' fly-in fly-out (FIFO) charter flights.

As I posted on Tuesday 10 July, NetJets Cessna 501 Citation SP bizjet VH-FUM is registered to - and I assume operated by - Australasian Jet.  VH-FUM flew into Clermont from, and later departed back to Deniliquin in New South Wales.

Australasian Jet Beech B200 King Airs have also been noted flying FIFO charters into Clermont Aerodrome this week too.  On Tuesday 10 July, VH-ZMP arrived from and departed to Brisbane after a short visit - about the same time as the citation.  Meanwhile, on Thursday 12 July, I caught another King Air, VH-ZMO, on the ground at Clermont Aerodrome shortly after arriving from Deniliquin and Bourke.

These are some new routes for FIFO charters into Clermont, and I believe they were operating for a drilling company.  Hopefully, there are more to come!

Early on Wednesday 11 July, I caught Hinterland Avaition Cessna 208 VH-MRZ at Clermont Aerodrome.  It had just arrived from Cairns as "Hinterland 626".  I believe the Caravan later departed to Innisfail.

A great week!
