Spotted visiting Mackay Airport on
Monday 12 January was Cairns-based Aerorescue (AMSA - Australian Maritime Safety Authority) Dornier 328-100 VH-PPV "Rescue 441".
It was tasked from Cairns to perform a search off Mackay as a rescue beacon had been heard off the coast.
After taking on fuel it departed back to Cairns.
Of interest, VH-PPV is one of five Dorniers that Aerorescue operate for AMSA in ports around Australia - VH-PPF, VH-PPG, VH-PPJ, VH-PPQ and VH-PPV - are in their current fleet.
