On Tuesday 2 June, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing B737-7ES / E-7A Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) aircraft - A30-002 - was noted completing a missed approach at Longreach Airport.

A30-002 was flying as "Mitchel 02" and looked to fly up from RAAF Base Williamtown near Newcastle in New South Wales, to Longreach where it then completed its airwork. A30-002 then flew onwards to RAAF Base Tindal near Katherine in the Northern Territory where it landed for a short time.
A30-002 "Mitchel 02" was then later noted returning to Williamtown.
