A much publicised closed tourist charter flight was noted passing through a couple of Central Queensland Airports on Friday 10 September with Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100 jet VH-UQG flying South from Townsville to Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport and then back up to Rockhampton Airport before then departing direct to Ayres Rock (Yulara) as UTY571/574/575.
VH-UQG is expected to return to Rockhampton and Hervey Bay Airports from Ayres Rock (Yulara) on Sunday 12 September.
UPDATE! Indeed on Sunday 12 September, VH-UQG returned to Rockhampton Airport from Ayres Rock before continuing to Hervey Bay Airport and Townsville but as UTY570/573/574.
As mentioned previously, VH-UQG is painted into a stunning livery by Lila Design in Tilburg, The Netherlands (EU), which honours adventurous Australian aviator Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith.
The VH-UQG registration marking was the registration for Kingsford-Smith’s Avro 616 Avian ‘Southern Cross Minor’ and was assigned to the Fokker aircraft by chance.
VH-UQG celebrates the early years of pioneering aviation and should soon be visiting other major cities and regional towns in CQ and around Australia.
Meanwhile, also on Friday 10 September, Machjet (Machjet International) Cessna 525 Citation CJ1 bizjet VH-SIY was noted visiting Biloela / Thangool Airport from its Sunshine Coast base.
FKG Air (Redjet Aviation) Hawker Beechcraft B200GT VH-FKB was back in the region, calling into Gladstone Airport from Toowoomba, Archerfield and then Toowoomba-Wellcamp.
And finally, also on Friday 10 September, Bayswater Road Aerial Surveys / Aero Logistics Survey Cessna 206H flew into Emerald Airport from Archerfield and Kingaroy. It completed several surveys while enroute.
