On Sunday 21 May, yet another aerial surveying aircraft was noted in the region with Southern Airlines Rockwell 690A Turbo Commander VH-SOU (ex C-GEOS) noted operating out of Roma Airport.

VH-SOU at Moorabbin recently

It appears to have flown up from its Melbourne (Moorabbin) base the previous day.

UPDATE! VH-SOU continued to operate from Roma Airport until early June when it then flew down to Moree.

And also noted visiting Roma Airport, also on Sunday 21 May, was Capital Jet Charter (Canberra) Cessna 525B CitationJet CJ3 bizjet VH-TCS. It arrived from Canberra and Moruya and later departed back to Canberra and then the Sunshine Coast.

VH-TCS also looked to visit Roma Airport on Thursday 18 May and Mies Airport on Tuesday 16 May. - busy little plane!

Meanwhile, also on Sunday 21 May, Graham Aviation (Cairns) Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjet VH-FMZ visited Hamilton Island Airport from its Mareeba base via Cairns.

UPDATE!  It looks like VH-FMZ in fact returned to Cairns and Mareeba on Monday 22 May.

Finally, also on Sunday 21 May, seven New South Wales based Piper PA-28 Cherokees all flew through the region and landed at a couple of Central Queensland Airports while on their way up to the Whitsundays.

Schofield Flying Club's VH-ZFY, VH-ZFP, VH-ZFN, VH-ZFX and VH-SFR, along with privately owned VH-NRL, and Campbell Aviation VH-XKV all landed at Gladstone Airport from the Sunshine Coast. They then departed to Mackay Airport and the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour. They had come from Bankstown and Coffs Harbour yesterday.

UPDATE!  The next day, on Monday 22 May, all aircraft looked to fly out of the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour for Emerald Airport and then Roma Airport. On Tuesday 23 May, they departed Roma Airport for ports further South in New South Wales with it appearing they all returned to Bankstown by the end of the week.
