Additional flights and larger capacity aircraft are leaving Mackay Airport this week, as more and more people are boarding Brisbane-bound planes.
There has seen a substantial increase in passengers wanting to travel south to Brisbane, as many roads in Queensland remain cut due to unprecedented flooding.
From Monday 10 January, Virgin Blue has been operating additional Embraer 190 flights, and Alliance Airlines Fokker 100 aircraft have been operating for QantasLink, both providing more capacity between Brisbane and Mackay.
One of Alliance Airline’s latest Fokker 100 aircraft, VH-XWM, is pictured below at Mackay Airport on Tuesday 11 January.
