Central Queensland Airline Passengers Enjoy Additional Flights
As announced previously on the Blog, QantasLink has recently expanded its regional Queensland network by launching a new Townsville to Moranbah service. The service will initially take-off twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays, and will provide customers with seamless connections to Cairns and between Far North Queensland and the Bowen Basin coal fields.
QantasLink has also increased the number of flights between Moranbah and Brisbane, with a new late afternoon service departing from Brisbane at 5pm on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. A Saturday service will also be introduced for the first time.
Additional flights between Emerald and Brisbane were also added.
Meanwhile, Airnorth Airlines - which is based in Darwin - will fly direct services from Darwin to Townsville with Embraer E-170 jets from February next year.
The new route would see flights every Monday and Friday, and there would be connections from Townsville to Mackay, Rockhampton and Gladstone, thereby opening up the tourist market to the Northern Territory.
Airnorth already flies from Darwin to the Gold Coast via Mt Isa.
