Some Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Apache Action from Rockhampton Airport
Ben O popped into Rockhampton Airport on Thursday 10 November and was lucky enough to photograph the departure of two Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Boeing AH-64D Apache helicopters.
The flight of two Apaches departed of Rockhampton's Runway 33 for the Shoalwater Bay Training Area (SWBTA).
The two Apaches - serials 066 and 063 - flew under the callsign "Avon".
As they were departing, Ben O also managed to capture one of the the RSAF Eurocopter AS332M Super Puma helicopters arrive back into Rockhampton Airport from Shoalwater Bay. The Super Puma shown is '293', but Ben O didn't manage to catch its radio callsign.
It landed at the threshold of Runway 22 where there is a temporary helicopter landing pad. Nice photos can be had from Canoona Road (near the Capricorn Rescue Helicopter Base).
