Virgin Australia Opens New Passenger Lounge at Mackay Airport
Virgin Australia has opened its new passenger lounge at Mackay Airport late last year. Virgin Australia’s gold and platinum Velocity members and business class travellers have entry to the lounge.
First impressions of the new – and well overdue - lounge's luxury facilities have been very positive. The new 260 square metre lounge can accommodate up to 70 guests, and overall it creates a very relaxing atmosphere. Staff have been complimented on their friendliness, and the food is fresh.
The lounge is but one new Virgin products offered in Mackay, showing their commitment to the region. Increased flights between Mackay and Brisbane will be operating from March and recently, planes sporting a new-look interior and business class cabins have started flying in and out of the region – as seen by the recent visits of Virgin's new Boeing B737-800 aircraft at Mackay Airport - such as VH-YFH.
