A First Time Virgin Australia Visitor to Rockhampton Airport Tuesday Plus Others!
Virgin Australia Boeing B737-800 VH-YIE made its first visit into Rockhampton Airport on Tuesday 7 February, operating DJ1245/1248 from and back to Brisbane. While VH-YIE isn't the newest Virgin B737 in the fleet, it was still the aircraft's first visit.
Also noteworthy on Tuesday 7 February was Alliance Airlines Fokker F-70 VH-QQX which operated to Rockhampton Airport in the afternoon/evening from and back to Brisbane on behalf of QantasLink. VH-QQX is shown below during another recent visit.
Lastly, Don W reports that a familiar sight around Rockhampton Airport in the form of PZL Warszawa-Okecie M-18B Dromader VH-MDR has returned from an extended maintenance holiday.
The Dromader is operated by local company R-Mach Aviation and operates crop spraying and other flights out of the Airport to local properties. As shown in the photos below, VH-MDR has received a new paint job, and more interestingly, as had it lovely old raidial piston engine replaced with a more efficient turbo-prop engine.
Thanks Don W for your report!
