Fog at Rockhampton and Gladstone Airports on Monday

Both Rockhampton and Gladstone woke up on Monday 6 August to a thick blanket of fog.  Although, fortunately for air travellers, there were only some minor disruptions.

According to sources, the early morning Virgin Australia (Alliance Airlines-operated) Fokker F-100 service from Brisbane to Rokchampton diverted to Gladstone.  Obviously, the fog at Gladstone had lifted sufficiently, and DJ1251, which was operated by VH-XWM, touched down at Gladstone Airport at about 7.30am.

After about 45 minutes on the ground at Gladstone, VH-XWM departed to Rockhampton, from where it later departed as the delayed DJ1252 back to Brisbane. (File photo below)

Meanwhile, also spotted at Gladstone Airport on Monday 6 August, were QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 VH-QOF, which Shane T caught just before touch-down.

Also spotted was QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXO, which from what I can see, was operating a slightly delayed service to Gladstone Airport from Brisbane - perhaps due to the early morning fog?

Lastly, Virgin Australia (Skywest Airlines) ATR 72-500 VH-FVH was photographed by Shane departing back to Brisbane.

It seems all other scheduled commercial aircraft landed at Rockhampton and Gladstone Airports successfully during the rest of the morning.
