Some Interesting Aircraft at Hamilton Island Airport

Looks like Hamilton Island Airport has played host to some interesting aircraft visitors in recent days.

As mentioned in the Blog post below, Balmoral Air Dassault Falcon 2000EX bizjet VH-WIO arrived from Darwin on Thursday 9 August.

On Tuesday 14 August Eurocopter AS.350B3 Squirrel helicopter VH-MDQ was scheduled to call into Hamilton Island while on what seems to be an adventure flight North from the Gold Coast.  VH-MDQ appears to be owned by former World Champion Motorcycle rider Mick Doohan.  The Squirrel was also noted at Moranbah Airport and Mackay Airports this week, and has now returned to its Gold Coast base.

A Malaysian-based Cessna 182 N118EH was scheduled to touch down at Hamilton Island Airport on Tuesday 14 August from Toowoomba.  Over the previous two days, it had flown from Moorabbin in Melbourne to Bankstown in Sydney.
