A Couple of Other Plane Spotting Photos from Gladstone Airport on Friday

Along with the Alliance Airlines Fokker F-100 VH-XWR visiting Gladstone Airport, the latter part of the week also yielded a couple of interesting light aircraft visitors, along with some great opportunities for local plane spotters Jamie C and Tash C to capture some stunning photos of some of the action!

On Friday 13 December, privately-owned Cessna A185F (Skywagon) VH-AIA made a spectacular departure from Gladstone for parts unknown.

Until recently, VH-AIA wore the titles and colours of 'Air Mareeba' and was based in Far North Queensland.  Also as shown below, when VH-AIA was preparing for departure, QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXH touched down at Gladstone from Brisbane.

VH-NXH returned to Gladstone later on Friday 13 December, and with the Airport being quite busy during the afternoon, when the B717-200 departed, it was forced to taxi down the main taxiway - something that is quite rare!  It did allow for some great photos though!

After departure, VH-NXH turned back overhead the Airport, making for a spectacular photos with the early evening moon!

As VH-NXH departed, QantasLink Dash-8-Q400 Next Gen VH-LQK was also preparing for departure to Brisbane but as QLK2307.

Finally, to cap off a busy afternoon on Friday 13 December, Virgin Australia Regional Airlines ATR 72-500 VH-FVL was photographed departing to Brisbane as VOZ1720.

And also as shown above, CromAir Cessna 414A VH-CBT was visiting Gladstone, and was captured departing back to its Bundaberg base.

Some great photos from Gladstone Airport again this week from two of Central Queensland's premier aviation photographers - thanks Jamie and Tash for your continued support of the CQ Plane Spotting Blog!
