Cessna 441 Conquest Turboprops VH-OPM & VH-EQU - Plus a Few Other Lighties - At CQ Airports This Week

It's been a quiet couple of days but there has been a couple of interesting visiting interstate based light General Aviation (GA) aircraft noted passing through different parts of Central Queensland.

On Sunday 7 May, Cessna 441 Conquest VH-OPM was noted passing through Longreach Airport while flying North from its Warrnambool base in Victoria to Cooktown in Far North Queensland.  Then on Wednesday 10 May, VH-OPM returned South from Cooktown calling into Longreach Airport once again before it departed back to Warrnambool.

Another Cessna 441 Conquest that has been noted flying in parts of Central Queensland this week has been BPW Aviation of Scone, New South Wales, Cessna 441 VH-EQU.  While its exact movements are not fully known, on Tuesday 9 May, it looked to touch down at Hervey Bay (Fraser Coast) Airport from the South.  Then on Wednesday 10 May, VH-EQU looked to arrive into Bundaberg Airport and then later, Gladstone Airport where it looked to be spending the night.

Back out at Longreach Airport, also on Wednesday 10 May, Interair (Photomapping Services) Cessna 402B VH-KCL was noted arriving from Mount Isa and departing to Roma Airport.  As we mentioned below, VH-KCL was noted passing through Gladstone and Mackay Airports on Sunday 7 May, while heading North to Cairns.  It since flew out to Mount Isa on Tuesday 9 May before flying South.

Vanderfield Pilatus PC-12/47 VH-WPH has had a busy couple of days, arriving into Mackay Airport from its Toowoomba base on Monday 8 May.  After overnighting, it returned to Toowoomba.

Then on Wednesday 10 May, VH-WPH departed to Toowoomba and had a busy day of flying where it called into Emerald, Barcaldine and Longreach Airports before returning to Toowoomba over the same route.

At the time of writing, VH-WPH is scheduled to return to Mackay Airport yet again from Toowoomba on Thursday 11 May.

Finally, after operating the week-daily freight flights from Emerald Airport to Barcaldine and Longreach Airports over the last few weeks, General Aviation Maintenance (GAM) AeroCommander 500-S VH-UJV departed Emerald Airport for Brisbane late on Friday 5 May.

Fellow GAM AeroCommander 500-S VH-UJU arrived back into Emerald Airport from Brisbane on Saturday 6 May and has since commenced flying the freight flights to the Central West and back.
