Exercise Wallaby 2017 - More Great Photos of all the Heavy Jet Passenger Charter Flights into Rockhampton Airport Last Weekend

As we reported below, last weekend, Rockhampton Airport played host to several visits by heavy jet aircraft operating passenger charter flights in support of the Singapore Armed Force's Exercise Wallaby 2017.  Local plane spotters 'IAD' and Kayanne H were two of many of aviation enthusiasts and just plain curious onlookers who have sent through some great photos of the action.  Enjoy!

On Saturday 2 September, Singapore Airlines Boeing B777-200 9V-SVF kicked off the heavy jet passenger charters into Rockhampton Airport touching down directly from Singapore's Changi Airport as SIA8931.  After it offloaded a full flight of personnel, bags, and boxes of other cargo, 9V-SVF returned to Singapore's Changi Airport as SIA8932.

Then later on Saturday 2 September, perhaps the nicest arrival into Rockhampton Airport in the form of Royal Brunei Airlines Boeing B787-8 Dreamliner V8-DLD also flew in from Singapore's Changi Airport but as RBA4271.  It too unloaded a full load of personnel and bags and was refuelled, and it later too departed back to Singapore but as RBA4272.

On Sunday 3 September, Royal Brunei Airlines Boeing B787-8 Dreamliner V8-DLD returned to Rockhampton Airport touching down once again directly from Singapore's Changi Airport as RBA4271.  It again unloaded a full load of personnel and their bags and later departed direct to Brunei International Airport as RBA4272.

Finally, on Monday 4 September, two more heavy jet aircraft called into Rockhampton Airport, with Qantas Airways Airbus A330-202 VH-EBV arriving direct from Singapore's Changi Airport as QFA6038.  After offloading another full flight of personnel and their bags - as well as some pallets of cargo - VH-EBV departed to Melbourne (Tullamarine) Airport again as QFA6038.

Finally, also on Monday 4 September, Singapore Airlines Boeing B777-200 9V-SVF returned to Rockhampton Airport for its second visit in three days.  It again touched down also directly from Changi flying as SIA8931.  After it too offloaded a full flight of personnel, bags, and boxes of other cargo, 9V-SVF returned to Singapore's Changi Airport again as SIA8932.

As mentioned below, the second visit by 9V-SVF saw the end of the first 'wave' of heavy jet passenger charter flights in support of Exercise Wallaby 2017.  Another 'wave' of flights is expected later in September.

Sincere thanks to 'IAD' and Kayanne for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
