More Great Photos of Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A (MRTT) A39-005 at Rockhampton Airport on Friday

Local plane spotter Michael M was also on hand at Rockhampton Airport on Friday 22 May and also shares with us some more great photos of the visiting Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Airbus A330-203 / KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) A39-005 which visited the beef capital for a short while as "Dragon 75".

As mentioned below, the KC-30A flew North from RAAF Base Amberley and also landed at Cairns for a short time before flying back South to Rocky.  It completed a low-level go around before landing on Runway 15 and parking on Gate 6 on the Southern end of the Rockhampton Airport parking apron.

After completing a re-program and possible crew change, A39-005 taxied out and departed Rockhampton Airport for Townsville.  It later returned to Amberley.

Of interest, the RAAF currently has seven KC-30A MRTT aircraft are flown by 33 Squadron based at RAAF Base Amberley.  The Squadron is responsible for aerial refuelling and long-range passenger transport and is controlled by No. 86 Wing, which is part of Air Mobility Group.

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter Michael M for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
