Another Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Boeing CH-47D Chinook Helicopter Pops into Rockhampton Airport - Then Heads to Townsville!

On Thursday 22 October, a third Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Boeing CH-47D Chinook helicopter was photographed arriving into Rockhampton Airport.  Like the two that arrived the previous day, it too flew into Rocky direct from its base at Oakey.

The CH-47D Chinook helicopter was identified wearing the serial number 88183 and joined 88181 and 88182 on the ground at Rockhampton Airport.  It was heard to use the radio callsign of "Cyclops 83".

A little later, Chinook 88181 "Cyclops 81" departed Rockhampton Airport for Townsville.  It was photographed (below) arriving into Townsville.

It was later joined by 88183 which also departed Rockhampton Airport for Townsville again as "Cyclops 83".

The RSAF Chinooks have deployed to Townsville reportedly to complete a series of exercises possibly alongside resident Townsville-based Australian Army helicopters.

It appears that 88182 is still at Rockhampton Airport and has possibly suffered a technical problem.

UPDATE!  On Friday 23 October, RSAF Chinook 88182 departed Rockhampton Airport for Oakey again as "Cyclops 82".

Sincere thanks to local plane spotter Kayanne H for taking the time to capture and send through these great photos!
