A Few Corporate Bizjets Around CQ Airports - Plus More - on a Busy Sunday!

A surprisingly busy day on Sunday 1 May with numerous corporate bizjets and other aircraft coming and going from several Central Queensland Airports.

Up at Hamilton Island Airport, a pair of Air Link (Metro Holdings) (New South Wales) Cessna 510 Citation Mustang bizjets VH-SQV and VH-SQY were both noted visiting from Bankstown.  They arrived from there via Newcastle (Williamtown) almost together before then later returning together directly back to Bankstown.

Balmoral Air Dassault Falcon 2000LX bizjet VH-WIO also arrived into Hamilton Island Airport from its Bankstown base.  It appears to be scheduled to depart to Sydney on Monday 2 May.

And Redjet Aviation (Toowoomba) Falcon 50 Dassault Mystere Falcon 50 VH-FJQ was noted visiting Rockhampton Airport again.  On this occasion, it arrived from Townsville and later departed to the Gold Coast.  It also passed through Rockhampton Airport heading North on Friday 29 April.

Meanwhile, also on Sunday 1 May, a couple of smaller corporate aircraft noted around the region included the Queensland Government Airwing (State of Queensland) Raytheon B300 Super King Air VH-SGQ which arrived into Barcaldine Airport from Brisbane.  It is due to return to the capital on Monday 2 May.

Brisbane-based Piper PA-31-350 VH-RPV visited Rockhampton Airport from Archerfield.

Cirrus SR22 VH-VKZ also visited Rockhampton Airport but from its Sunshine Coast base.  It appeared to be operating an 'Angel Flight'.

And Easternwell Group Beech B300 Super King Air VH-EWQ flew into the Whitsunday Airport at Shute Harbour from Brisbane.  It then returned to the capital before then flying to Toowoomba.  It had positioned to Brisbane from Toowoomba late the previous day.

Finally, also on Sunday 1 May, a couple of helicopters around the region included Orange Helicopters (Orange, New South Wales) Eurocopter AS 350 B3 Squirrel helicopter which departed Emerald Airport for the South.  It presently seems to be operating from Emerald Airport.

And Aerotech Helicopters (Parafield, South Australia) Eurocopter EC135 P2+ VH-LHZ was noted flying from the Sunshine Coast to Roma Airport.  The relatively new helicopter was registered in November 2021 and was previously SP-DMS.

UPDATE!  On Monday 2 May, VH-LHZ continued from Roma Airport to Charleville Airport and onwards to Moomba.

Of interest, the registration marking VH-LHZ is well known with it previously worn by a Sikorsky S-76A helicopter which was flown by Lloyd Helicopters / CHC Helicopters Australia for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) in a search and rescue support role.  This helicopter looks to have been cancelled from the Australian Aircraft Register in June 2021 with it exported to South Korea as HL-9675.
