Aircraft Visiting and on Approach to Gladstone Airport over the Weekend

Jamie C has sent through a couple of photos of some interesting arrivals into Gladstone Airport on Saturday 6 October.  Cessna 404 VH-LAM is operated by Bayswater Road and is a common sight in Central Queensland, flying aerial survey sorties from various airports.

Also spotted (and mentioned below) was Corporate Aviation Bell 429 helicopter which was returning to its Gold Coast base at Southport from Hamilton Island on Saturday 6 October, and again called into Gladstone Airport for fuel.

Also spotted on Saturday 6 October - this time on approach to Gladstone Airport by Shane T in his backyard - was Virgin Australia (Skywest Airlines) ATR 72-500 VH-FVU and QantasLink Dash-8-Q300 VH-TQE.

Meanwhile, on Sunday 7 October, Shane caught QantasLink (Cobham Aviation) Boeing B717-200 VH-NXN, which returned to Central Queensland skies over the weekend.

Eagle-eyed readers may note that VH-NXN is another QantasLink aircraft to wear the additional titles highlighting QantasLink being awarded Air Transport World magazine's Regional Airline of the Year 2012
