Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) 34 Squadron VIP Challenger 604 - AND MORE!! - at Rockhampton Airport Thursday

Spotted on the ground at Rockhampton Airport during the morning of Thursday 18 October was Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Canadair CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 A37-002, which is operated by the VIP 34 Squadron in Canberra.

It had reportedly arrived from the South as "Envoy 89", and was later noted departing back to the South using the same callsign.

Thanks to 'IAD' for venturing to Rockhampton and sending through some of his fantastic photos!

Meanwhile, as the day went on, I received some messages that other RAAF aircraft were noted conducting 'missed approaches' at Rockhampton Airport.  Reports suggested that a Boeing E-7A Wedgetail (B737-7ES) conducted a missed approach, and that later in the day a Boeing C-17A Globemaster III was also seen departing out of Rockhampton for the North.  These were hard to catch!
